巴斯经A4公路與西北方的布里斯托相連。其鐵路站Bath Spa，位於連接倫敦與布里斯托的大西部鐵路線（Great Western Railway）上，西北可經布里斯托連接卡的夫（Cardiff），東南可達朴次茅斯。
埃文河流經巴斯，從布里斯托出海，通过水閘可行小舟。1810年時，曾经一度可由肯尼特-埃文運河(Kennet-Avon Canal)通往泰晤士河和倫敦。現在恢復的水道很受扁舟用户的欢迎。
地形

歷史
主要的溫泉地點被凯爾特人當作神廟，奉獻給蘇利絲（Sulis）。羅馬人則把她視同於羅馬神話中的米娜娃（Minerva）。不過羅馬人入侵後，仍然用蘇利絲這個名字，所以現在還有「阿奎莎麗思（Aquae Sulis)」（意為「莎麗思的水」）這個城名。
