慕尼黑（德文：München，英文：Munich），是德国巴伐利亚自由州的首府，位于阿尔卑斯山北麓，人口130万（城市群|市区人口30万），仅次于柏林和汉堡，是德国的第三大城市，是德国南部的政治、经济、文化、科技和交通中心，同时又保留着原巴伐利亚王国都城的古朴风情，因此被人们称作“百万人的村庄”。中文譯名其實源自該城的英文名Munich。
地理
慕尼黑位于德国南部，是巴伐利亚自由州的首府，慕尼黑距离阿尔卑斯山北侧约45公里，海拔在+579米到+482米之间。多瑙河的支流伊萨尔河沿西南-西北方向从城中穿过，是慕尼黑的主要河流，绵延13.7公里，德意志博物馆坐落在其中一座小岛上，城内的众多的湖泊形成了无数的大小公园。
慕尼黑平均气温为10.6度，夏季最高气温可达35度左右，冬季最低气温可达零下25度。
历史
慕尼黑这个地名在德语中有“僧侣之地”的含义。这块土地上早先只有一个默默无闻的修道院，1158年，当时的萨克森公爵狮子亨利在修道院附近的伊萨尔河上架起新桥，一个新的集镇就这样诞生了，这就是慕尼黑的雏形。1255年慕尼黑成为小邦首邑，后来成为拜恩（巴伐利亚）公国的都城。14世纪初，拜恩的路德维希当选为皇帝，称路易四世 (神圣罗马帝国)|路易四世。他在位期间，以慕尼黑为帝都，扩建城垣，奠定了老城的规模。在17世纪的三十年战争中，瑞典军队攻占了慕尼黑，居民们凑起30万塔勒（旧币名）的赎城费，才保住了这座城市不受破坏。1806年，拜恩成为王国，慕尼黑也升格为王都。整个19世纪是慕尼黑蓬勃发展的黄金时代，人口由5万增加到50万。历代王公都大兴土木，建造宫殿，甚至修建整条街道，城市面貌大为改观。其中最有名的是路德维希一世 (巴伐利亚)|路德维希一世（1825年-1848年在位），他把一所大学迁到慕尼黑，修建了好几处博物馆和具有古典式建筑风格的路德维希大街，使慕尼黑成为具有欧洲地位的艺术城市。 1871年德国统一后，慕尼黑仍然作为王都直到1918年。1919年，慕尼黑曾成立过三个月的巴伐利亚苏维埃共和国。第二次世界大战前希特勒于1923年率冲锋队逮捕了当地的长官，这就是历史上著名的“啤酒馆政变”。政变后希特勒被捕，在狱中写下了《我的奋斗》。二战期间，希特勒的纳粹党总部就设立在慕尼黑。1938年9月 英国、法国、德国、意大利四国首脑內維爾·張伯倫|张伯伦、达拉第、希特勒、墨索里尼在慕尼黑举行会议，签署《慕尼黑协定》，把捷克斯洛伐克的苏台德区割让给德国。二战末期，慕尼黑先后遭到66次轰炸，市区建筑四分之一以上受到破坏，许多地方被夷为平地。战后，古建筑按原貌重建，而且新建许多造型独特的建筑，使城市有了进一步发展，并成为德国南部最大的城市。
政治
现任的慕尼黑市长是克里斯蒂安·乌德（Christian Ude），他是德国社会民主党（SPD）的成员。而巴伐利亚其它地区主要由德国基督教社会联盟（CSU）主政。
经济
慕尼黑是德国重要的经济中心。有近百家跨国公司的总部坐落在慕尼黑。其中著名的有安联保险和慕尼黑再保险、宝马汽车、西门子和英飞凌科技等。此外，麦当劳、微软、思科等跨国公司的欧洲总部也设在慕尼黑。慕尼黑是德国消费水平最高的城市
文化
出版业
著名的南德意志报、巴伐利亚信使报、焦点杂志、贝塔斯曼集团的总部均坐落在慕尼黑。1900年，列宁创办的全俄马克思主义的秘密报纸《火星报》创刊号就是在慕尼黑出版的。慕尼黑是欧洲最大的出版业中心，其规模仅次于纽约。
教育
马克斯·普朗克研究所、歌德学院等学院组织的总部均设立在慕尼黑。慕尼黑大学和慕尼黑工业大学均是世界著名的学府。
艺术
慕尼黑是著名作曲家、指挥家理查德·施特劳斯的诞生地，全市有20多座歌剧院、剧院，是世界著名的音乐之城。建于19世纪初的巴伐利亚国家歌剧院是世界一流的歌剧院。
老绘画陈列馆，收藏有德国、比利时名画家的作品，是世界6大画馆之一。州立现代艺术陈列馆，因收藏毕加索等大师的作品而饮誉世界。
体育
1972年，第20届奥林匹克运动会，八名恐怖份子通過奧運的安全檢查，先後殺害11名以色列运动员，引起各國對於運動員人身安全的關注，史稱“慕尼黑惨案”。
全新的安联球场已施工完成。它是一座专业足球场，也是2006年世界杯足球赛开幕地点。这座球场是德甲勁旅拜仁慕尼黑和德乙球队慕尼黑1860足球队的共同主场。
1958年，英国曼彻斯特联队在一场欧洲冠军杯比赛中淘汰了南斯拉夫贝尔格莱德红星队，不料回程飞机在慕尼黑加油之后，起飞时坠毁，十余名球员、教练、俱乐部官员及随行记者遇难，慕尼黑空难是体育史上最著名的灾难之一。
2006年，第18届世界杯足球赛在慕尼黑的安联球场揭幕，由东道主德国队迎战哥斯达黎加队。
建筑
作为历史文化名城，慕尼黑有许多巴洛克式和哥特式建筑，例如新市政厅、圣母大教堂、老彼德教堂和圣马可大教堂，它们是欧洲文艺复兴时期的典型代表。同时，慕尼黑也有许多现代建筑，宝马公司总部和奥林匹亚体育场就是其杰出的代表。
博物馆
慕尼黑全市大约有50个公共博物馆和收藏馆。其中位于伊萨河博物馆岛的德意志博物馆建于1925年，曾一度是世界上最大的自然科学和技术博物馆，每年接待超过一百万游客，另有分馆航空航天博物馆和交通博物馆。
传统
巴伐利亚是德国一个比较保守的州，作为其首府的慕尼黑，人们的生活则具有传统保守和现代开放的两面性。慕尼黑盛产啤酒，饮用量为世界第一，因此慕尼黑有“啤酒之都”的称号。闻名世界的 “慕尼黑啤酒节|十月啤酒节”是慕尼黑民间的传统节日，已有170年的历史。巴伐利亚地方特色的食品具有典型的地方特色。Brezel烤面包圈、烤猪肘子配酸菜、香肠等。
